What's a silly fear you had as a child?

When I was younger, I was afraid you'd get electrocuted if you ran over the wire with the vacuum cleaner. I was also afraid of going down the drain in the bathtub, skeletons and Mickey Mouse.

Really? How come?

EVIDENTLY I was afraid of grass when my family first moved back here, because I had lived in a city apartment for my whole life and had never seen it before. But I was also less than a year old, so I don't even remember it. :T

That's actually an entirely understandable fear. Though I think at that age I was eating grass.

The Unsolved Mysteries theme song.

/youtubes because I keep hearing the x-files theme in my head

Eesh, I see what you mean.

Freddy Kreuger.

...actually, I'm still afraid of him, despite knowing that it's just Robert Englund in a costume and makeup/mask.

I can tell you something silly/stupid I used to say when I was younger though!

I was never subjected to Nightmare on Elm Street except for Freddy vs. Jason, and I couldn't take Freddy seriously after he pulled some girl's nose off. I'll have to watch the originals, though!

Go for it!

Whenever my dad would play Toccata and Fugue in D Minor on his CD player, it would always terrify me because I thought it was scary music. 8(

[identity profile] dorkage.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It is scary! I can't listen to that and not think of Dracula.

"scared" does not fit your overwhelming terror of skeletons as a kid :P

I was terrified of Freddy Kreuger as well, Kuja. Even manifesting itself as hearing scratching and shit.

I'm STILL scared of open casket funerals. Only because I'm terrified the corpse will sit up, grab me, pull me in and I will be buried alive. To this day, I'm afraid.

I was scared shitless of the wicked witch of the west.

Thunderstorms...which I now love. And miss.

Oh, OH!

A huge one, as a kid. I swore that my stuffed animals were alive and would murder me if I didn't make them comfortable when I went to bed.

I'm batshit, I know.

HEY skeletons are scary, man. That Home Alone 2 scene is still scary. I've gotten over my fear of thunderstorms, though.

... And I've never heard the stuffed animals one. That's kind of awesome.

My brother and I were both afraid of alien abductions as kids and wouldn't sleep in our own beds for like a month.

You are not alone, according to youtube comments.

It was strangely comforting?!
